The Learning Resource Centre is a specific and dedicated space for all students at Caroline Chisholm School to use. As your child is a student I am delighted to inform, they are able to use this space to complete homework, print work, check their school emails and browse the shelves for some pleasure reading fiction.
We have a wide range of books to appeal to all ages to inform or entertain your child. Because most of the stock is brand new, and we still have more to add, at the moment we are limiting the number of loans to students. Secondary students will be able to take two books.
Books are issued on a three week loan basis. If selections of fiction and non-fiction books are popular the loan period will change to one week, without being able to renew the item.
Even though this is a fantastic opportunity for students, we understand books do get misplaced. However we will not be issuing fines for late returns but will need to implement a strict return policy outlined below.
The Process of Overdue Books
Reminder One – This will be emailed to both you and your child once the book(s) are overdue if contact has not been made with Jo Howes, the LRC Manager.
Reminder Two – A second email will be sent a week later if the books have not been returned or contact has not been made with school.
Reminder Three – If we don’t hear from you, a week after the second reminder, then we will seek to recuperate some or all of the cost of the book.
Because the books are a wonderful source of information and enjoyment we would like every student to take books home. If you do not wish your child to take advantage of this opportunity then please contact Mrs Howes the LRC Manager.
Please do not hesitate to contact school should you have any further questions.
