Non-uniform day Friday 8th May to raise money for Nepal
Many of our young people have asked if we can do something to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Nepal. They have seen the images in the news and online and realise that urgent help is needed.
We have therefore decided to have a non-uniform day on Friday. All money raised will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee. This is the UK organisation which pulls together all the work of the main charities when a major disaster occurs. The DEC makes sure that the money is used where it is most urgently needed.
We would be really grateful for your support, with the usual donation of £1 if your child comes to school without uniform. There will be other fund-raising activities on the day and any extra money we receive will all go to the same worthwhile cause. Sixth Form students are wearing red and white on Friday. These are the colours in the Nepalese flag. Children in other year groups are very welcome to adopt the same theme.
Thank you as ever for your support.
