13 March 2016
The GCSE PE practical moderation days are scheduled for Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th March. Your child will be given a timetable which tells them when during these three days they will be involved in assessments. If your child is being assessed on any given day they may come into school in their CCS PE kit. Please note, items of clothing that are not NAVY BLUE or BLACK are not acceptable and they will have to remove them. Students must be smart for their assessment, therefore no track suit bottoms or leggings are allowed to be worn. Track suit bottoms can be worn over their shorts for their other lessons, break and lunch time.
These three days are a culmination of 60% of their final GCSE grade and a visiting moderator will be in school. Each session is worth up to 12% of their final grade. Therefore it is essential that your child is punctual. If they miss a session they will be given a ‘0.’ If your child is too sick to attend school on these days a doctors note must be obtained which we then have to forward onto the exam board. Please call the office and ask to speak to a member of the PE department to make us aware of any absence as soon as possible on that day.
Thank you in advance for your support – we wish all of the students the very best of luck for this examination.
