N Chamberlain, M Vine, C Barnet and G Walsh took part in a National Young Sports Leaders Conference held at Loughborough University on March 6th. The conference taught the Junior Sports Leaders how to plan, organise, budget and run a sports festival for other young people. The aim is for the J.S.L.A group to plan a sports festival for primary schools in the summer term. The four leaders enjoyed the day and gained new skills to be used at school. As part of the day they even met the UK’s No.1 Wheelchair Tennis champion and Guin Batten – silver medallist in the Women’s Quad Rowing team at the Sydney Olympics and one of the organisers of the event run by The Youth Sports Trust.
