Sea, Sun and Sand in Swanage for Sixth Form

Just before half term, our inaugural sixth form Geography field trip took place on the Dorset coast. Staying at Swanage Youth Hostel, the group were investigating the processes that have lead to the formation of one of Britain’s most spectacular stretches of coastline, the World Heritage Site known as the Jurassic Coast. The students also looked the development of the unique sand dune ecosystem at Studland, investigated human conflict management at Poole Harbour and visited on of the country’s most notorious coastal erosion management challenges At Barton- on-Sea. Students will now take this work forward as 40% of their AS level qualification.
