At the start of February 35 staff and students from Caroline Chisholm School visited the Aosta Valley for the third time in as many years to enhance their ski and snowboarding skills.

Students had the opportunity to be assessed for their GCSE practical exam and many of the skiers were complimented by Interski and it’s instructors on their exceptional techniques on both skis and snowboard. The snow conditions were excellent with students experiencing thick powder at the start of the week with clear blue skies giving perfect skiing conditions.Thankfully injuries were minimal and all students and staff returned in one piece if a little tired!

Away from the slopes students were treated to copious amounts of pasta and some students excelled in the consumption of crepes! In the evenings we took part in team ten pin bowling, quizzes, pizza night and, of course, the famous Interski disco where several students put on their dancing shoes and treated us to an exhibition.

At the end of the week three students were identified by Interski as talented enough to be considered for scholarship to qualify as possible ski instructors in the future. They were K Witts – Snowboarding, T Wiles – Skiing, S Mennel – Skiing.

CCS staff would like to thank students for making the trip an enjoyable experience for all, they were a credit to the school.

Deposits are presently being taken from the current Year 9 students for Ski Italia 2009.
