The Year 7 football team hosted a talented Academy side. CCS got off to a good start and took an early lead through E Baldwin. CCS managed a fair amount of the possession and crafted out a few chances after good work from the midfield pair of C Byfield and R Chamberlain. Academy stood strong and fashion some chances of their own before leading to the equalising goal. The away team seemed buoyed by the equaliser and scored a great header from the resulting corner. CCS would trail undeservedly 2-1 at the interval.
The second half echoed much of the good play in the first…CCS producing some of the best football they have played to date, playing with good width from C Tew. As the light began to fade the drama certainly didn’t…S Hamp chased a through ball with only seconds remaining and slotted the ball home to score a dramatic late equaliser. Final score 2-2.
Player of the Match: C Byfield
Well done to both teams for an entertaining game. Congratulations to CCS on achieving a creditable point against a strong side.
