The phrase, ‘giving a hundred and ten percent’ was defined on Monday night. After falling behind to three second half goals, it looked like the lads were going to crash out of the competition at the second hurdle. Their first goal, which made the score 3-1, looked like it would prove little more than a consolation effort as full time loomed. With two more goals in a spectacular ten minute period at the end of regulation time however, CCS pushed the game into extra time. Unfortunately, Duston scored again and, as the second ten minute session of extra time began, CCS was once again out of the cup. Just as they had in regulation time though, the team rallied and found two more goals to seal an amazing 5-4 victory. Goal scorers included L Mitchell, S Heavey, B Stanmore and two from J Richards. Almost impossible to pick a man of the match from a fixture filled with outstanding performances. With a stunning brace and some excellent endeavour, often as the lone striker, however, captain J Richards deserves some honourable mention.
