Year 10 Boys Rugby team show fighting spirit

Year 10 Boys Rugby team show a fighting spirit against Wren School in County Cup.

The Year 10’s put up a good first half performance against a well drilled Wren side in the County Cup 2nd Round. The team were committed to the tackles and there were some fine runs from J.Hopwood who used his size well and drove the ball straight after the forwards had gained possession at the ruck. C.Malone was only just stopped from beating his opposite winger on the outside by being pushed into touch. Some defensive errors – not clearing the ball to touch allowed Wren to score a try out on the wing. However the team continued to tackle and halted many tries by defending well, close to the try line. In the second half, the fitness started to tell and Wren scored a couple of early tries. T. Murparutsa continued to tackle anything that moved, however the team lost some key players due to injury and their moral started to decline. Unfortunately Wren put the game out of reach with more tries. This is the furthest the team has got in the County Cup and they did themselves proud in the first half. Well done
