Year 9 Boys crowned 7-a-side Football Champions

It was a very close fought match between Kingsbrook and Caroline Chisholm in the Year 9 South Northants District 7 -a-side football League final. J. Hughes played outstanding and received Man of the Match with some amazing saves to keep CCS in the match which was played over 4 – ten minute quarters. The team were missing some key players which affected their performance. However J. Roberts was on hand again to shoot low and hard into the corner to make it 1-1 in the final quarter, after going down 1-0 in the third quarter. CCS pushed forward in the final 10 minutes but could not finish the game off. It went to penalties, and with CCS’ previous bad luck in such situations, the takers were nervous. No need as L.Williams (capt) calmly powered the ball low and hard into the net, followed by J.Mennell, J.Roberts, and W.Greenwood. J. Hughes again made an outstanding save to make it 4-3. Unfortunately CCS missed there final penalty, and all eyes were on J.Hughes once again in order to keep the lead. He didn’t disappoint and dived low to stop Kingbrook equalising.

Well done to all Year 9 who have contributed and played in the League matches N.Shampier. A.Smith. J.Roberts. I.Daniels. D.Halsey. L.Williams. W.Greenwood. N.Thumbwood. R.Clifton. M.Pauluck. J.Mennell. J.Flynn.
