CCS v NSB Fred Truman Cricket League

On a boiling hot Wednesday afternoon CCS were to face a strong undefeated NSB side. CCS won the toss and elected to bowl. Even some tight bowling from V Patel was unable to stop the opening pair reaching 50 with some quality attacking cricket shots. The strong NSB batting line up did not give CCS any chance of a wicket and continued to add boundaries to the rapidly increasing total. NSB managed to put a remarkable score on the board after the 20 overs leaving CCS needing 200 to win!

After a superb batting display it the turn of the NSB bowlers. CCS lost their first 4 wickets with only 1 run coming off the bat. J Rust managed to calm the flow the wickets with some good defensive shot playing. P White made his debut and played some nice shots before being bowled by an extremely fast ball. J Snook and J Wilde formed a formidable partnership scoring 7 boundaries including a massive 6 from the strong J Snook (shot of the day!). J Snook eventually lost his wicket for 20 runs and J Cox came in to stabilise with Wilde. Unfortunately J Cox, R Solazzo and J Brewer lost their wickets again leaving J Wilde the last man standing for the second game in a row.

CCS can pride themselves on staying in bat for the full 20 overs after such a strong start from the NSB bowlers. Well done boys. Good luck next season.

Player of the match – J Wilde
