Throughout the week CCS pupils have been raising money for sport relief. The student council organised a range of events in the street during lunchtimes. Many students (and staff) took part in activities ranging from speed stacking to a hoopla competition. Students were also allowed to wear red socks to school on Friday and many wore official sports relief socks! The culminating event to the schools fundraising was the ‘Sport Relief Mile’. On Sunday 21st March, students and families from all of the Caroline Chisholm feeder primary schools and Caroline Chisholm School itself, were invited to take part in the fun run. More than 250 people turned out as the event was supported enthusiastically by all. Participants completed the route in a variety of ways; walking, jogging and even tied to other people!
All of the people taking part were asked to donate a minimum of £1. After many generous donations (including students contributing all of their pocket money) the grand total for the run alone was £928.20!! A fantastic achievement! After this money is added to that made earlier in the week it is estimated that Caroline Chisholm School and local community will have raised a staggering £1100 for sport relief.
Well done to everybody who contributed to raising so much money for such a worthwhile cause!
