STEM Event: Big Bang National Event – Birmingham NEC, Wednesday 16 March 2016
As part of the on-going STEM events organised at school, we have been fortunate to secure some free tickets to The Big Bang, National Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
All pupils would benefit from this experience, but especially those who are taking STEM subjects as part of their Year 10 options. The full day event focuses on all of the STEM subjects and looks at what’s new in Science and Engineering.
The coach will leave at 8.00am prompt on Wednesday 16 March 2016 and students should meet in the LRC by 7.45am. Students will be required to wear uniform and will need to take lunch with them. It is not advisable to take large bags with them to the event. Students will be divided into smaller groups and will have periods of unsupervised time during the day. We hope to return to school around 4.00pm depending on traffic.
We are requesting a voluntary contribution of £10 towards the cost of the coach to and from Birmingham – tickets to the show are free. ParentPay will just take the first 120 places and it will be those that are accepted. To confirm your child’s place on this trip please contribute via www.ParentPay.com by Friday 4th March. Please note that where parents use ‘ParentPay’ to pay for visits that take place out of school, this will be regarded as parent consent for your child to take part in this visit. This contribution is voluntary but where there are not enough voluntary contributions to make the visit possible then it will be cancelled. If you would like your child to attend, but circumstances prevent you from paying, please contact the school on 01604 669200 or email email@example.com where this matter will be dealt with in confidence. Parents’ support for the school in providing additional curriculum enrichment experiences is much appreciated.
