Earlier in the academic year the school held a non-uniform day in honour of Pelumi Alege. Pelumi was a former year 11 student who tragically lost his life last summer. The non – uniform day raised £1,529.52 a fantastic amount. That total teamed with a significant donation from the CCS friends has enabled the school fitness suite to be upgraded.
The upgrade has seen various new pieces of equipment including 2 x AD8 air bikes, a new Olympic bench with free weights, a roman chair, a new set of hexagonal dumbbells and various resources to improve the area as a teaching space.
The fitness suite is used within curriculum time and supports with the delivery of PE across all the key stages. In addition to this, it is a very popular extra – curricular club that is used after school by students in year 9 and above.
As a department we are very grateful for the contributions from both the students and the CCS Friends. We are very proud of the improved area and know that the students will benefit from this space for many years to come.
