Winter School Games

On Tuesday 25 February, Kettering Leisure Village hosted the Winter School games where a variety of our sports teams took part.

Our Year 5 & 6 Sportshall Athletics team came first in their competition for the sixth year in a row!

Our Year 7 girls, Year 8 girls and Year 8 boys Sportshall Athletics teams also took part in and all finished 2nd in the County finals! Pictured together below.

Our KS3 boys and girls teams also represented CCS for Badminton.

In the girls competition, CCS beat both teams from Northampton School for Girls and beat local rivals Sponne to finish second in the county after narrowly losing to eventual winners Oundle.

In the boys competition, CCS won their pool with victories over St Peters & Oundle. This progressed the team into the next pool stage that would determine 1st to 4th place overall. In this pool stage CCS remained unbeaten with victories against Oundle, Chenderit & Northampton School for Boys. As a result CCS were crowned county champions and will represent the county in the regional round in Nottingham.

Our KS4 girls and boys Badminton team both finished 4th in the County Final.

Finally, our Year 7 & 8 girls Futsal team came first in their competition. This means they are now through to represent Northamptonshire in the Regional finals!

Coach Mrs Evans added, “I am SUPER proud, most of the girls are now playing in local football teams or at Northampton Town PDC or cobblers. All of them dedicate every week to training and have even done several weeks with me on just futsal for preparation. They were a real credit to the school. The girls played superb football throughout, showcasing their development of control and placement of the ball in such a small but fast game. One very proud PE Teacher and Football Coach!”
