  • Girls Football - County Cup Finalists

    Published 28/03/24, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

The girls were tremendous leading the game 2-0 until the last 10 minutes when the other team equalised.

Taking us to extra time, both teams scored, the girls didn’t give up and were a credit to the score.

The game was then decided on penalties.

A nerve-racking end and tremendous pressure to be put under.

The girls did well but, unfortunately, were defeated 5-4.

It was an emotional end to a fantastic game.

I am extremely proud of their achievement, their commitment and their attitude. True sportswomen right till the end.

  • Year 7 Football vs Malcom Arnold

    Published 21/03/24, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

Last night, the Year 7 boys played Malcom Arnold and won 7-0!

    Goal Scorers: O Witheyman (3) B Page (1) B Koomson (1) Ja Spires (1) T Alexander (1)

A dominant performance from the boys, who started the first half strong, dominating possession, but just couldn’t find the back of the net. Went into half-time 0-0, determined to make up for this, the boys came out to the second half ready to make amends after a goalless first half.

An incredibly dominant second half saw the Year 7’s finish the game 7-0 with O Witheyman scoring a hat-trick and our keeper, H Urquhart, keeping a clean sheet. A five-star performance from the boys!

  • Year 8 EWS District League - 18/03/24

    Published 19/03/24, by Megan Innes

Last night, our Year 8 boys played a district league fixture against Elizabeth Woodville School (EWS) and won 4-1.

It was the second away fixture of the year for the boys, and they were feeling confident coming off the back of a victory a couple of weeks ago. CCS started very strong, racing into a 3-0 lead before half time with goals from Kai’Marni I, Toby M and Sean C.

Heading into the break 3-0 up, the boys wanted more goals and could see the opportunities increasing. EWS managed to pull one back, but this didn’t faze the boys, and they went on to pull another goal through Josh K, finishing the game 4-1.

A very successful away trip for the team seeing us go 2 wins out of 2 in the league and placing us top.

    Published 15/03/24, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

On Saturday 9th March, 8 students (a mix of years 8-13) performed in Northampton School for Boys' annual dance show 'Junction'. The girls performed exceptionally well and represented CCS in an impeccable way. They worked extremely hard attending regular rehearsals in the build up to the show to ensure they were confident and could perform to a high standard. This was the first time CCS had performed at Junction, and we look forward to next year, where we will hopefully get an opportunity to attend again. Well done to all involved!

CCS attended the U12 County Netball Plate at KBA on Tuesday 5th March.  The girls played some lovely netball against some tough opposition, winning 3 games, drawing 1 and losing 4.

They finished 6th in their pool.  Some lovely play from the girls, especially M Couldrick, E Savage and A Hunt.  However, for overall consistent play, the player of the tournament was B Dudley.

  • Year 8 District League Football v Sponne - 26/02/24

    Published 27/02/24, by Megan Innes

Congratulations to our Year 8 boys who won their first league game of the season 3-2 vs Sponne last night (Sponne 2 – 3 Caroline Chisholm School).

It was a very tightly contested first half with CCS dominating possession and having the best opportunities to score. However, after a controversial refereeing decision, Sponne went into half time 1-0 up.

With much to debate about at half time, it was agreed that this was the incorrect decision and Sponne did in fact let us walk the ball through and score at the beginning of the second half. The same theme for the second half, CCS dominating possession and having many clear cut opportunities to score, these did eventually pay off with CCS going 2-1 up through A Campbell. A long range effort from K Inana in the later stages of the second half saw us take the game away from Sponne, and the boys continued to control the game with Sponne getting one back, but it was too late for them to complete the comeback.

  • Under 14s boys football advance to county cup final!

    Published 16/02/24, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

On the 14 February, the under 14 CCS football team travelled to Duston School for the semi-finals of the county cup with the aim of making it to the county cup final for the second successive year.

A positive start from CCS did not result in a goal and the first half finished 0-0 with CCS having the better of the limited chances. In the second half, a very unfortunate own goal meant the boys were 1-0 down. However, each player showed fantastic character and they all rallied around each other to make the score even at 1-1. Some brilliant football followed, and CCS quickly scored a second and then a third with a standout goal and performance from Z. Stevens who was named as player of the match. Arguably the best team performance of the season, has meant CCS have progressed to the under 14’s county cup final for a second year in a row.

Final Score: Duston School 1  -  3 Caroline Chisholm School

Man of the Match: Z. Stevens

These students were selected to represent South Northamptonshire after placing in the top 20 at the district cross-country event.

Students F. Carty, E. Taylor, J. Twining and L. Turner all ran brilliantly, securing their spots in the inter-counties Anglian Cup which took place on Saturday 3 February.

After great performances at both the County Championships and the Anglian Trophy Meeting, J. Twining and L. Turner have been selected to represent Northamptonshire at the English Schools Cross Country event against the 45 other Counties across England – A great achievement!
