  • U13 Boys County Cup Final v NSB - 18/03/26

    Published 20/03/26, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

On Wednesday evening (18 March), the Year 8 boys’ football team produced a brilliant performance in the County Cup final against NSB, securing a memorable victory in an age category the school had never previously won.

Unbeaten all season and brimming with confidence after a dominant 6–0 semi-final win, CCS started the game on the front foot. Their bright start, which saw an assured defensive display and attacking fluidity, saw CCS take the lead from a brilliantly taken finish by O. Clements-Hill, before doubling their advantage when A. Peroni rose highest at a corner to power home a bullet header. The momentum remained with CCS, and M. Carp added a well-deserved third, capping off an excellent attacking move.

With a 3–0 lead, the team appeared in full control, until NSB hit back with two quickfire goals entering the final 10 minutes. Both sides created chances: CCS to put the game beyond doubt, and NSB to force an equaliser. In the game's final minutes, H. Beezhold delivered a goalkeeping masterclass. His string of courageous saves kept CCS ahead, but it was the final kick of the game that saw an extraordinary fingertip stop, diverting a fierce shot onto the crossbar, sparking jubilant celebrations as the referee blew for full time.

The 3–2 victory sealed the County Cup for CCS, maintaining their unbeaten year. A brilliant team performance, full of resilience, skill, and heart.

    Published 17/03/26, by Megan Innes

CCS Girls U16s delivered a breathtaking performance to lift the County Cup, showcasing teamwork, determination, and resilience from the first whistle to the last. The girls dominated every phase of the game, closing down their opponents at every opportunity and never letting up, a testament to their relentless spirit.

The final saw five fantastic goals, each a product of excellent passing, sharp vision, and a drive to succeed. Every strike reflected the girls’ understanding of the game, their commitment to each other, and their sheer passion for football.

This remarkable victory marks the fourth consecutive year that CCS Girls U16s have reached the county cup final—an unbelievable achievement that continues a legacy of excellence in CCS girls’ football over the last eight years.

As a teacher and coach, I couldn’t be prouder. Watching these young athletes grow in confidence, skill, and teamwork over the past five years has been incredibly rewarding. Many of these girls are now making their mark in local football, and I hope their achievements on the pitch continue for many years to come.

CCS Girls U16s have truly shown what determination, teamwork, and passion can achieve—this County Cup victory is one I am incredibly proud of. Well done CCS! A special shout out also goes to Peaches, whilst she couldn't make it to the final game, she has had a fantastic season of her own and shown incredible teamwork throughout – well done.

    Published 12/03/26, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

The Year 8 netball team had a great match Tuesday night, and it was a vast improvement on the previous match.   They worked hard together and the shooting was excellent.  CCS defended well and only conceded one goal.   D Spires was superb in attack AND defence and intercepted so many balls to keep CCS in possession.   A great way to end the season.  We now wait for the results to come in to see if CCS will win the league or will be a close runners-up but a fantastic season for this talented group of netballers.
