Year 8 Horse Racing Success

Year 8 student, Gracey Patel, has been making waves in the world of pony racing!

Gracey has been travelling across the country with her talented ponies Ruby and Maggie, achieving remarkable results along the way. She secured impressive 2nd place finishes at both Ascot and Cheltenham, and took 3rd place at Fakenham with Maggie. Adding to her success, she claimed 1st place at Fakenham riding Julian, a Shetland pony from the JPL racing team based in Essex.

Her talent hasn’t gone unnoticed—John Lamb, the owner and trainer of JPL, personally selected Gracey to ride for his team this season, praising her skill and dedication.

Gracey's consistent performance has earned her 2nd place in the national 148cm points league, a phenomenal achievement that has also secured her a spot in the prestigious Racecourse Series—described by the Pony Racing Authority as "our top level of Pony Racing and often a stepping stone for future professional jockeys."

Most recently, on Sunday 11 May, Gracey won Best Turned Out & 2nd place with pony Ruby and 2nd place with pony Maggie at Haydock.

Good luck and well done, Gracey! We can’t wait to see what you achieve next.
