Ambition Confidence Success
Caroline Chisholm is an oversubscribed, academically successful all-through school that strives to develop young people into ambitious, highly successful, happy and resilient young adults. We make learning enjoyable from reception year right up to the sixth form. We provide a challenging academic curriculum, coupled with a very supportive pastoral system that values the strengths and talents of the individual student.
Ambition Confidence Success
Caroline Chisholm School was the UK’s first purpose built all-through school which opened in state-of-the-art facilities in 2004. The school is a dynamic, successful and highly over-subscribed academy with over 2000 students on roll, of which 420 pupils are in the primary phase and around 300 students in the Sixth form. Our facilities include an extensive Design & Technology department which includes a wood workshop, textile and state of the art cookery rooms, and an electronics studio, IT suites, a bespoke visual art area and gallery and a sixth form centre.

Our Year 4 children have had a fantastic time in York this week for their residential, blessed with truly marvellous weather! They have walked the walls, wandered through the shambles, and visited both York's chocolate story (complete with plenty of free samples) and Jorvik. To finish the trip, the children spent the day experiencing life as a Roman Legionary at Murton Park.
As part of our Amazing Animals Learning Theme, our Foundation Stage children have had their very own class caterpillars! They carefully observed the caterpillars growing and making their cocoons. After a few days, beautiful butterflies emerged from the cocoons. The children made links by creating their own symmetrical butterflies. Once the butterflies' wings dried out, we went to the forest school area to release them. We also had another exciting visitor to Foundation Stage this week, Fang, the Royal Python. The children were able to touch Fang and thought of different words to describe how he felt. We discovered lots of facts about snakes and held some of the skin that Fang had shredded. What an amazing experience for our children in Foundation Stage!
This week our Year 5 children visited the Black Country Living Museum, exploring what life was like in the Victorian era. The children took a stroll down Main Street and discovered the many shops that supplied goods to people, from confectionary to hardware. They also learned all about coal mining, as they took part in an exciting underground mine experience; listening to recordings about how coal was mined and how workers managed for so many hours in the dark - a real eye-opening experience for all. We hope you all had a fantastic time and learned lots!
Last Sunday, two groups of our primary children took part in this years' Dancing Schools UK event. Our Year 2 team performed the Waltz and Samba and competed against 6 other schools in their category and finished 3rd place! Our Year 3 & 4 group later took to the stage to perform a Viennese Waltz and a Cha cha, facing 9 other schools. Their fantastic efforts were rewarded when they were called out in 2nd place. All of the children danced beautifully and represented our school brilliantly. There were lots of smiling faces all-round from the children, and you should each be very proud of yourselves – a huge well done to you all! A special mention to Year 2 winners Hackleton Primary and Year 3 & 4 winners Lings Primary who both danced incredibly and won in their respective categories.
Our U12 girls football team are County Cup winners! The team faced Kettering Buccleuch Academy tonight for the final round of the County Cup and it was an intense game throughout. A 2-0 lead within the first 10 minutes was shortly equalised and saw the game finish 3-2 to CCS at half time. The girls went into the 2nd half with determination, and despite another goal from KBA, CCS had an exceptional breakthrough putting the team back in the lead 4-3 to bring home the trophy!!! Huge congratulations girls! Mrs Evans would like to say what an incredibly proud coach she is. Your dedication, talent and hard work shone through the entire game! Full match report available via our school website.
On Thursday, Jon Brady, Manager of Northampton Town FC kindly took time out of his busy schedule to lead a motivational assembly for our Year 7 students. After his inspirational talk, our own Year 7 football teams were given the opportunity to have their photo taken with Jon. Some of our Year 11s were also very keen to meet Jon and speak to him during his visit. As a school, we would like to take the opportunity to send The Cobblers all of our support when they face Tranmere Rovers on Monday; a game that if they win will see them go up to League 1. We know that the students will be cheering them on! @ntfc_community @officiallyntfc
Huge congratulations to our U16 boys football team in winning the County Cup!! The team travelled to Wellingborough Town yesterday for the final of the U16's County Cup, ready to face their opponents, Latimer. It was a game of two halves, with goals from both teams, but CCS fought off the competition to finish 3-2 and County Cup Champions! Coach Mr Rich would like to add, "what a fantastic achievement for this group of players and one that they fully deserve following an impressive season. It's been a pleasure to oversee their development, and I am very proud of their achievements. Well done boys " Full match report available on the school website.

“Every teacher I have is incredibly passionate in the subject they teach. We engage with them, because they engage us. They want to be with us in the classroom.”
