On Friday 17 March, the U14 Girls hockey team headed to Rugby School for the first ever U14 Midlands State School Festival.

Up against schools we had never played before, the girls were excited see how they would get on. Their enthusiasm, encouragement and teamwork throughout the day shone through and their determination against tough opposition was fantastic. The team played exceptionally well in all 5 games, scoring 15 goals and only conceding 3, resulting in 4 wins and a draw.

I am very proud of the girls for continuing to play great hockey in every match and for rising to the challenge of playing against new teams! The team are now excited to attend the first ever England State School Festival at Nottingham in May.

  • Year 8 Netball - 21/02/23

Yesterday, Guilsborough came to CCS for the South Northants league match.   It was a very exciting game and A Hollis was outstanding with her passing into the circle and her wonderful netball.   E Meridith showed her versatility during the game but excelled at Wing Defence. There was excellent defending from F Ossianya, H Morris and T Gisannin and A Agyei had so much energy during the game and dominated the centre court when she played Centre.  E Swaffer was so strong through the whole court in defence and attack and worked so well with the talented I Robinson to score the goals for CCS.

Special mention to E Taylor who, as captain, has been amazing organising the team, the rota of play, as well as playing fantastic netball.

The whole team worked so well together and won the match convincingly.  Final Score CCS 20 – 2 Guilsborough.

Player of the match E Swaffer.

On Tuesday afternoon our Year 8 football team played Weavers Academy at home for the opportunity to play in the county cup final. Having not played since before the Christmas break, the game began with a nervy opening 5 minutes but CCS grew into the game and began to play some great football. Towards the end of the first half, the first goal of the game was scored with a flowing counter attacking move finished off by C. Rossetti.

In the second half, the game began to open up with Weavers looking to equalise and going close on a couple of occasions. However, some excellent defending led by captain and man of the Match R. Southworth repelled any Weavers Attack. Support from the CCS students helped the team to two quickfire goals took the score line to 3-0, and a fourth was scored shortly before full time with C. Rossetti adding a second with goals also coming from J. Ferreira and O. Mason.

A fantastic display of great football and incredible teamwork from every single player see’s CCS through to the county cup final.
