  • Year 7 and 8 Netball v EWS - 14/10/25

    Published 15/10/25, by Megan Innes

Yesterday, we travelled to EWS for a league Netball match.  We took two Year 7 teams and one Year 8 team.

Y7A – The girls played exceptionally well, with fantastic shooting from both L Schoeman and S Chapman (our player of the match). L Noonan-Johnson was picking up every interception in the middle of the court and EWS struggled to get past the fantastic defence duo of G Rooney and E Okire.

    Final Score EWS 1 - 8 CCS

Player of the match: S Chapman

Y7B – This was the first time the Year 7 B team has represented the school for Netball this year. It was brilliant to see so many new faces. The girls took on lots of advice from the umpires and their play had dramatically improved from the 1st-4th quarter.  J.L'ongtstaff's footwork was exceptional throughout the game and C Lindley was a little whipet on court! Well done girls.

    Final Score EWS 6 - 2 CCS

Player of the match: J Longstaff

Year 8 – The first quarter was very close with both teams settling into the match with a few misplaced passes from both teams.  However, in the 2nd quarter, CCS took control and R Baxter made some fabulous interceptions at GK and worked well with F White to keep EWS at bay.

In the second half, CCS worked really well and A Tran played really well, along with M Southworth and E Clewett, moved the ball up the court.  L Ducksbury’s shooting was accurate and the centre court of S Haines, D Spires, R Eze and H Fall played their part to secure the CCS win in the next two quarters.

    Final Score EWS 3 – 9 CCS

Player of the match: F White

    Published 07/10/25, by Megan Innes

Despite a strong start from the opposition, CCS found themselves 1-0 down early in the game. However, in true CCS fashion, the team rallied together and responded with determination and quality. J Kelly was clinical in front of goal, netting two superb finishes to turn the game on its head and give CCS the lead.

At the back, A Rendall delivered a standout performance, earning himself Man of the Match honours. His defensive display was nothing short of exceptional, effectively neutralising one of Campion’s most dangerous players and keeping the back line solid throughout.

This result marks two wins from two for the Year 10 squad, who continue to build momentum and confidence. With this victory, they advance to the next round, ready to take on whatever comes next.
