Sixth Form
Whether a pupil has been with us for their secondary phase or is joining us to begin their A level journey, their welfare is of paramount importance. At our school, we pride ourselves in providing excellent support to our students.
Pastoral care is at the heart of our Sixth Form. We believe that supporting students in their growth mindset promotes their wellbeing.
We have a number of services available to support learning including the following:
- Dedicated form tutors – offering consistency and a regular point of contact
- Subject leaders – providing guidance and support in all areas of learning
- School counsellor – offering tailored, individual support when required
- Mentoring scheme – allowing students to mentor younger students, assisting in confidence and leadership skills
- Dedicated sixth form area – a large area solely for sixth form use allowing individual, silent studying
- Sixth form café – a communal, social area allowing interaction in a relaxed area exclusively for sixth form use
- Individual lockers – secure charging point for personal devices
- Sixth Form Student Council - led by the head and deputy head students which play a central part in forming a successful partnership with teaching and administrative staff
In our most recent Ofsted inspection, the inspectors were keen to point out the great opportunities available in our Sixth Form:
“Leaders provide many opportunities to develop students’ character. These include mentoring younger pupils and volunteering in projects in the local community."
