Ambition Confidence Success
Caroline Chisholm is an oversubscribed, academically successful all-through school that strives to develop young people into ambitious, highly successful, happy and resilient young adults. We make learning enjoyable from reception year right up to the sixth form. We provide a challenging academic curriculum, coupled with a very supportive pastoral system that values the strengths and talents of the individual student.
Ambition Confidence Success
Caroline Chisholm School was the UK’s first purpose built all-through school which opened in state-of-the-art facilities in 2004. The school is a dynamic, successful and highly over-subscribed academy with over 2000 students on roll, of which 420 pupils are in the primary phase and around 300 students in the Sixth form. Our facilities include an extensive Design & Technology department which includes a wood workshop, textile and state of the art cookery rooms, and an electronics studio, IT suites, a bespoke visual art area and gallery and a sixth form centre.

Celebrating UNICEF's World Children's Day! Today marks World Children's Day, a global event championing children's rightslike the freedom to share their thoughts and ideas. What better time to announce that the CCS Student Council is officially underway! Representatives from Years 1 to 13 came together last week to start crafting their manifesto for school improvement, inspired by the voices and ideas of our amazing students. Their enthusiasm, creativity and collaboration has been excellent, and we can't wait to see their vision take shape. #WorldChildrensDay #StudentVoice #CCSCommunity #youngleaders
Our amazing Year 5/6 Strictly team participated in Dancing Schools UK on Saturday. They dazzled a packed audience at the Derngate Theatre with an electrifying quickstep and samba, showcasing their talent and hard work in front of an esteemed panel of four judges. We are proud to share that our talented team secured second place in what was a very tough competition. A huge congratulations to Hackleton for taking first place and to Woodland View, who achieved third. Well done to all involved for their hard work, dedication and fantastic performances – what a wonderful achievement!
Recently, our Year 5 students had the exciting opportunity to interview Principal, Mr. David James, as part of their PSHE learning. This session was designed to help the children develop their knowledge of the school by learning about Mr James and his values and visions. The children showcased their VAA traits of practice and risk-taking, coming well-prepared with thoughtful and insightful questions they had rehearsed in class. Their curiosity and confidence grew as they delved into Mr. James' journey into teaching, his experiences as an educator, and his role as principal. The students engaged in meaningful dialogue, demonstrating respect and genuine interest in his responses. This experience not only allowed the children to connect with a key figure in their school community but also gave them a chance to reflect on the importance of building relationships, asking open-ended questions, and valuing the stories of others. Well done to Year 5 for making this such a memorable and enriching activity!
Last Friday, our Year 12 students took part in their first Model United Nations conference, debating the pressing issue of how to tackle child marriage. Each delegate represented the views of a different nation from across the globe, bringing diverse perspectives to the discussion. The students demonstrated excellent critical thinking, collaboration and confidence in sharing their views and working together to develop resolutions to the issue. A fantastic effort from all involved – well done!
A Special Visitor! Our Primary students were thrilled to welcome Pudsey Bear into assembly today! The students were able to join in the fun by dressing in non-uniform in exchange for a donation to support BBC Children in Need. Even Mr. James and Mr Fisher had to come see Pudsey! Together, we've helped to raise vital funds that will go towards improving the lives of children and young people across the UK. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and made the day so memorable. #ChildrenInNeed #PudseyBear #CommunitySpirit
Bringing Ideas to Life - Primary Buddy Bench! Two of our Year 7 students, Rose and Lottie, returned to primary with a special mission: to help paint the buddy bench they proposed last year as Year 6 wellbeing champions. Thanks to the generous support of Caroline Chisholm School Friends, who funded the project, Rose and Lottie's idea has been brought to life! With the help of Mrs Cairns, they worked hard to create a bright and inviting space, hoping the bench will become a place where primary students can sit, connect and enjoy time together.
Today, our Year 5 and 6 boys' football team took on the district finals, representing our school with great skill and sportsmanship! After topping our group with 7 pointsdrawing one match and winning the other two with goals from Caleb, Kye, and Noelwe moved on to face the group winners. The first game was an incredibly tough 0-1 loss, but we bounced back, winning our second match 1-0 thanks to Caleb's strike. The last game had everything on the line, with all four teams in the running for the title. Our lads delivered an epic 2-0 victory with goals from Harry and Kye, securing an impressive 2nd place finish overall and qualifying us for the county finals! Special shoutout to our keeper, Tyrese, for his fantastic saves, and to our defenders Theo, Harry, and Aadi, who only conceded one goal all day! A huge well done to every playerwhat a team effort!
