Caroline Chisholm School was the UK’s first purpose built all-through school which opened in state-of-the-art facilities in 2004. The school is a dynamic, successful and highly over-subscribed academy with over 2000 students on roll, of which 420 pupils are in the primary phase and around 300 students in the Sixth form. Our facilities include an extensive Design & Technology department which includes a wood workshop, textile and state of the art cookery rooms, and an electronics studio, IT suites, a bespoke visual art area and gallery and a sixth form centre.

Earlier this week, our Key Stage 2 students spread festive cheer during their Big Sing. From much-loved traditional carols to fun, feel-good Christmas songs, the children sang their hearts out and brought plenty of smiles along the way. We hope all the parents and carers enjoyed some time on site and a big thank you for being part of our lovely celebration!
We would like to extend a massive thank you to the The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation for their generous support in providing food parcels, chocolates, biscuits, and toys, helping to support some of our more disadvantaged students and families over the half-term holidays. We are also incredibly proud of our students; 14 of our sixth formers generously volunteered their time and energy to help lift and distribute an impressive 2,950 bags which will go to families across Northamptonshire.
From 9–12 December, an incredible ensemble of 60 students transported audiences of around 800 in CCS's latest production, Sister Act Jr. After auditions in early September, our cast worked tirelessly over a 10-week rehearsal period to deliver a visually stunning and acoustically excellent show. A huge congratulations to our two phenomenal Deloris Van Cartiers Kitty Denford (Year 13) and Elsie Davis (Year 10) who lit up the stage, supported beautifully by the initially fierce (but ultimately heart-warming!) Mother Superior, Carys Fenton (Year 13). Every member of the cast shone, with far too many standout moments to name individually. A special thank you to Sofia Bell (Year 9), Mayra Kardas (Year 13) and alumnus Danny Lloyd for their exceptional choreography, we truly couldn't have done it without you. Huge shout-outs also go to Edie Stringer (Year 11) for her exceptional backstage management, our extremely professional backstage crew, and Rachel Facer (Year 13) for managing a seamless and professional Front of House. We are also incredibly grateful to Mrs Page, Mrs Husband, Ms Trevellick, Mrs Atkins, Mrs Norman, Ms Sanby, Mr Jones and Mr Rich for being the most wonderful superfluity of nuns, and to CCS Friends for their kind donation towards costumes. The CCS Performing Arts team could not be prouder of everyone involved. Thank you to every student, staff member and supporter who helped make Sister Act Jr such a joy. A big thank you to our alumnus, Ben Gregory-Ring, for taking these beautiful showcase photos to share.
Last Friday, our Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 children experienced a truly magical morning. They were treated to a delicious snack, a special gift from Santa, and a festive Christmas story, followed by a fun-filled mini disco. Organised by our wonderful House Team, the event was full of excitement, and the children had lots of fun and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
On Monday, a group of our students visited Wootton Community Centre to perform for the Crafternoon group, as well as visitors to the café and library. The girls sang a varied programme, ranging from Christmas favourites to songs by Ella Fitzgerald. They performed with confidence and sang beautifully, representing the school with great pride. We are extremely proud of the way they conducted themselves and the joy they brought to the local community. Well done to all involved, and thank you to Wootton Parish Council for providing this wonderful opportunity to share some festive cheer with the community.
Last week, our Year 1 and 2 classes each enjoyed a fun afternoon of Christmas crafting accompanied by their loved ones, followed by a Christingle service at St. George the Martyr Church in Wootton. They sang carols, re-told the story of Christmas and lit their Christingles. It was a really lovely event, and we hope those that joined us had a great time too! A special thank you to St. George the Martyr Church, Wootton for inviting us, and hosting a wonderful service.
A huge thank you to Sarah Bool, our South Northamptonshire MP, for inviting us to take part in her Christmas card competition! We were delighted to welcome her to our primary assembly last Friday, where she announced the two winning designs that will become her official Christmas cards this year. Huge congratulations to our winners, Georgie and Leo in Year 5, and to the two wonderful runners-up, Bethany and Faith in Year 6, whose artwork will be featured on the back. How exciting! It was such a great opportunity for our children to shine and feel part of our wider community. We're so grateful to Sarah for spending time with the students and celebrating their creativity. And of course, a big shoutout to Mrs Andree Spedding and Mrs Gay Mason, our amazing primary art specialists, for organising such a special experience for our students.

“The school has high ambitions for all pupils. Pupils achieve well. They enjoy attending this school. The school ensures that all pupils feel valued."
"Being part of an all-through school has been particularly beneficial for me, as it has allowed me to build lasting friendships and maintain connections with classmates over the years. "
At Caroline Chisholm School we are very proud of our Alumni. Our students go on to achieve in a wide range of fields and often say that the work ethic, social skills and confidence they develop during their time with us has helped them in their careers.
We always enjoy hearing from our Alumni and If you recently finished with us in the last 5 years, we'd love to hear how you're getting on!
