It has been a week of celebrations across the school! Both our Year 11 and Year 13 students each said their final ‘official’ goodbyes to their peers and teachers today - it certainly has been a day filled with lots of emotions! There have been assemblies for both year groups, sharing lots of fantastic memories and even some flashback photos of students from their early days at CCS. Both cohorts will start their exam leave in the new term, with time dedicated to revision in readiness for GCSE and A Level exams. Our primary cohort also celebrated the results of the recent CCS Friends Silver Linings Competition, which raised over £500! The challenge was on to see which class could raise the most money, and ultimately travel the furthest. The competition saw children donating silver change, and each 1p was equivalent to 1 mile of travelling. The winners of this fantastic competition, raising nearly £70 alone for their class, are 6EC! A huge thank you to all who took part and donated, also a special mention to class 4AWSR who won the ‘Best Decorated Bucket’ prize to store their change! Year 4 have had a fantastic time in York this week for their residential, blessed with truly marvellous weather. The children have walked the walls, wandered through the shambles, and visited both York's chocolate story (complete with plenty of free samples) and Jorvik. To finish the trip, they will spend the day experiencing life as a Roman Legionary at Murton Park. Throw in a movie night and a Y4's Got Talent contest for good measure and they have had a truly memorable trip. I wish you all a wonderful long bank holiday weekend and end of term break. I look forward to welcoming students back into school to kickstart our final term on Monday 5 June. Warm regards, David James |
