  • Update to absence reporting

    Published 02/10/23, by Megan Innes

    Monday 2 October 2023

    Dear parents and carers,

We are experiencing an increase in absence notifications that are not being reported through the correct channels and therefore not being recorded on our system.

To eliminate this issue and make the process smoother and more efficient for both parents/carers and school, we are reducing the number of platforms available to log absences.

From Monday 9 October 2023, parents and carers will have two ways to report absence for your child/children.

    1. Leave a message on our school’s absence line – Primary 01604 272572 / Secondary 01604 264320.
    2. Edulink – reporting absence up to 5 days.

Our Schoolcomms text and email service will no longer be available to report absence after 9 October 2023.

In addition, emails sent directly to tutors or teachers to report absence, will not be recorded.

Please continue to complete a request for absence form, for 5 days or more of absence.

All absence reporting information can be found at Caroline Chisholm School - Absence (ccs.northants.sch.uk)

    Regards,

    Ms Cheryl Glover
    PA to Principal

  • Reminder: The Young Artists’ Summer Show at the Royal Academy

    Published 27/02/24, by Megan Innes

    Tuesday 27 February 2024

    Dear parents and carers,

Further to my email in January, this is a reminder that the deadline for applications to take part in the Young Artists’ Summer Show at the Royal Academy is Wednesday 27 March 2024. More information on how your child can take part in this brilliant opportunity is detailed below.

The Young Artists’ Summer Show at the Royal Academy of Art 2024

The Visual Art department is delighted to announce that we have registered our school to participate in the annual Young Artists’ Summer Show at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. All students from Reception to Year 13 are invited to enter.

This extremely prestigious event is designed to complement the annual Summer Show of established professional and emerging artists. Please note that GCSE and A level Visual Art students must not submit work they intend to use for their coursework or exam. If you would like your child to submit work for this event, then please follow the link below and search for ‘Caroline Chisholm School’: https://youngartists.royalacademy.org.uk/schools/lookup

For FAQ’s, please follow this link: https://youngartists.royalacademy.org.uk/faqs

Students may submit any work they choose to do, as there is no given theme, and they can use any appropriate medium (please see Terms and Conditions). Students can submit only one artwork. For your artwork submission, you will need a photograph (jpeg image) of the artwork, along with details including a title, medium and a short description. You can save your progress and submit later if you need more time. The deadline for entry is Wednesday 27 March 2024 at 5pm.

Student work will be selected by a panel of judges to be included in an online exhibition or the actual exhibition. Everyone who submits work will hear if they have been successful by the end of May.   Please click on the link below to view the online exhibition from 2023, which features our very own Year 10 student Jack M, who was successful in his submission last year.

We hope that students will take this opportunity to produce some amazing artwork which could be seen by an international audience, in one of the art world’s most renowned establishments. We would ask parents to please encourage their children to take part and to register using the first link on this letter.

The Visual Art department would once again like to thank parents for their continued support.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mr Stephen Walker
    Faculty Leader for Visual Art
