Caroline Chisholm School was the UK’s first purpose built all-through school which opened in state-of-the-art facilities in 2004. The school is a dynamic, successful and highly over-subscribed academy with over 2000 students on roll, of which 420 pupils are in the primary phase and around 300 students in the Sixth form. Our facilities include an extensive Design & Technology department which includes a wood workshop, textile and state of the art cookery rooms, and an electronics studio, IT suites, a bespoke visual art area and gallery and a sixth form centre.

Last week, our Year 1 and 2 classes each enjoyed a fun afternoon of Christmas crafting accompanied by their loved ones, followed by a Christingle service at St. George the Martyr Church in Wootton. They sang carols, re-told the story of Christmas and lit their Christingles. It was a really lovely event, and we hope those that joined us had a great time too! A special thank you to St. George the Martyr Church, Wootton for inviting us, and hosting a wonderful service.
A huge thank you to Sarah Bool, our South Northamptonshire MP, for inviting us to take part in her Christmas card competition! We were delighted to welcome her to our primary assembly last Friday, where she announced the two winning designs that will become her official Christmas cards this year. Huge congratulations to our winners, Georgie and Leo in Year 5, and to the two wonderful runners-up, Bethany and Faith in Year 6, whose artwork will be featured on the back. How exciting! It was such a great opportunity for our children to shine and feel part of our wider community. We're so grateful to Sarah for spending time with the students and celebrating their creativity. And of course, a big shoutout to Mrs Andree Spedding and Mrs Gay Mason, our amazing primary art specialists, for organising such a special experience for our students.

CCS Model UN On Tuesday, CCS held its first annual Model United Nations conference. Welcoming students from NSB, Sponne, and Abbeyfield, participants worked together across four committees, representing the interests of various international delegations. The four committees were seeking resolutions to challenges such as the rise of transnational terrorism, the balance between liberty and security, and the review of international aid policies. The event was hosted and run by a dedicated team of Year 13 students who have been working enthusiastically this term to prepare for the conference and to train the new Year 12 members in UN protocol. Students even managed to source a guest speaker who works as a consultant for the UN in conflict resolution. The event was a huge success, with students showing skills in oracy, diplomacy, and collaboration. Having received positive feedback from our visiting schools we look forward to making the event even bigger next year!
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all parents and carers who supported our recent Toy Drive. Organised by Mrs Simpson, our Aspire Team Administrator, and supported by our wonderful Sixth Form, the event received an incredible number of toy donations. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to share these gifts with The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation, who will distribute them to local families in need. p
Who knew crunching numbers could be this tasty? Ever opened your favourite snack, only to feel slightly let down by how little is inside? This term, our Year 12 Business students turned that universal disappointment into a learning opportunity! Using one of our go-to snacks, they explored the concepts of capacity and capacity utilisation within Operations Management. Students rolled up their sleeves, crunched the numbers (and the snacks), and developed their quantitative skills by examining what was actually inside those packets. Spoiler alert: you don't have mice in your cupboard! The Hula Hoop packets we analysed were operating at around 44–56% capacity utilisation. But... if you're feeling really hungry, reach for the Cheese & Onion, those came in at a whopping 56%!
What does the future of education look like and how do we build it together? This January, Caroline Chisholm School staff are gathering at the Wooldale Centre for Learning for our CCET Conference '26, and we couldn't be more excited. The theme says it all: "The Way Forward – Building Our Future Together." Why is this such a big moment? Because we're launching two game-changers: 1. Our Strategic Framework 2025–2029 – a bold vision for excellence, equity, and enrichment across every stage of learning. 2. The CCS People's Pledge – our commitment to supporting and empowering the incredible professionals who make transformational learning happen every day. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to inspire every student through an innovative, world-class education. From early years to Sixth Form, we're building a culture where ambition meets opportunity, and every learner is encouraged to aim high, grow with confidence, and make a real impact in the world. This isn't just a plan, it's a promise. A promise to deliver exceptional education, foster resilience and compassion, and create a community that's 'globally minded and future ready'. The future of education isn't something that happens to us, it's something we design together. Every conversation, every collaboration, every shared idea moves us closer to a world where every child's potential is realised. Working to imagine boldly, act with purpose, and build a future full of hope and aspiration ... together.
