Ambition Confidence Success
Caroline Chisholm is an oversubscribed, academically successful all-through school that strives to develop young people into ambitious, highly successful, happy and resilient young adults. We make learning enjoyable from reception year right up to the sixth form. We provide a challenging academic curriculum, coupled with a very supportive pastoral system that values the strengths and talents of the individual student.
Ambition Confidence Success
Caroline Chisholm School was the UK’s first purpose built all-through school which opened in state-of-the-art facilities in 2004. The school is a dynamic, successful and highly over-subscribed academy with over 2000 students on roll, of which 420 pupils are in the primary phase and around 300 students in the Sixth form. Our facilities include an extensive Design & Technology department which includes a wood workshop, textile and state of the art cookery rooms, and an electronics studio, IT suites, a bespoke visual art area and gallery and a sixth form centre.

As part of their theme learning 'Lightning Speed', the children in Year 4 were asked to explore what the connection between electricity and lightning could be. They had many thoughtful ideas and after some research and interesting discussions, they made the link of static electricity. To bring our learning to life, we visited the Science Lab where technician, Conal kindly shared his expertise with us and showed us some fun tricks using static electricity through the Van de Graff machine. We had a hair-raising time!
Christmas came early for our Year 10 Business Studies students last week! (Though really, can it ever be too early?) Our Year 10 students have been diving into the world of market segmentation, learning how businesses divide their markets by factors like demographics, income, and location to make their products and services more appealing to the right audience. To put their knowledge into practice, students were set a festive challenge: design and create their own advent calendar aimed at a specific target market. Students produced some truly inspired creations, from gramophone-themed calendars to claw machines and even charity-inspired designs. Principal Mr Bishop came and judged the students fantastic work yesterday, selecting 3 winning calendars - 1st place: Tolani and Tom (winning their very own chocolate advent calendar! ) 2nd place: The gramophone by Rhys and Joshua 3rd place: Dubai chocolate by Charis and Wafia Well done to you all your hard work and creativity, we think it's safe to say that Santa would be impressed with the marketing magic happening at CCS in Year 10!
Huge congratulations to Year 10 student Molly Wittich-Jackson! At just 14, Molly has earned a place in the Nottingham Forest U18 Netball Player Development Programme (PDP) for the 2025/26 season, making her one of the youngest players selected. After impressing at trials (originally for U15!), she now trains weekly in Nottingham and will compete against top NSL club squads throughout the year. Molly's netball journey began at 7, and she's since represented Northamptonshire and Derbyshire PDP teams, as well as playing regionally for Northants Storm and for Futureprint. To read more about Molly's success story, please check out our student spotlight area on our school website! We're incredibly proud of you, Molly exciting things ahead!
Today was an unforgettable day for our pupils as we welcomed Pudsey to the primary phase! The excitement was off the charts as children joined in fun activities, learned about the incredible work of BBC Children in Need, and shared lots of smiles. Huge thank you to everyone who helped make this visit possible and to our amazing pupils for their enthusiasm and generosity. Together, we're making a difference... one paw print at a time! #ChildrenInNeed #PudseyBear #PrimaryEducation #CommunitySpirit #MakingADifference

Last week, the U13 girls football secured a fantastic 11–2 win over Weston Favell Academy in the County Cup. It was a superb all-round performance, showcasing excellent precision, fluency, and teamwork from start to finish. The execution in every area of the pitch was excellent. Well done, girls. Onto the next round!
This week we welcomed CCS Alumni student Rory Bates back to speak to Year 13 and Year 12 Economics students about his journey in the subject on his way to A* success last year. From hints and tips regarding key content to know, through to his own examples of the best way to display the skills learnt in the exam, Rory provided some invaluable and honest insights into what it takes to achieve outstanding A Level results. The students asked a fantastic range of questions and Rory's enthusiasm really shone through and left them all with a renewed drive to as to how they can further their own A Level journey. We would like to just extend a huge thank you to Rory for giving up his time to help the current students excel in their A Level journey.
