  • Year 12 - Upcoming assessments

    Published 11/12/24, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

    11 December 2024

    Dear Parents/Carers,

    Upcoming assessments

I hope this letter finds you well. As we approach the end of the year. I would like to inform you about an important upcoming assessment period for Year 12 students.

From 7th January 2025 to 17th January 2025, in-class assessments will take place across all subjects. These assessments are designed to evaluate students' understanding and retention of the content that has been delivered in lessons since the beginning of the academic year.

It is crucial that all students come to these assessments fully prepared, as they will form a key part of their ongoing learning and progression. The content covered will include material from the start of the year to the present, so students should review their notes, complete any revision tasks set by teachers, and address any areas where they feel uncertain.

We understand that these assessments may be an additional source of stress for some students, but please be assured that they are an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and identify areas for further development before the final exams. Teachers will continue to provide guidance and support in the lead-up to the assessments, and we encourage students to seek assistance if needed.

I kindly ask that you support your child in preparing for these assessments, ensuring they stay organised and manage their time effectively. Encouragement to stay focused and maintain a positive mindset during this period will also be invaluable.

On a personal note, I would also like to take this opportunity to commend your child for the strong start they have made to Year 12. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to their studies have been evident, and I am genuinely impressed with the progress they have made so far.

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to continuing to work with you and your child in the new year.

    Kind regards,

    Mr Jack Jones
    Year 12 Performance Leader

    5 December 2024

    Dear parents/carers,

We are excited to share with you an exciting community project Year 11 will be working on over the coming week. Each form group in Year 11 has been tasked with producing an innovative Christmas hamper, made from recyclable materials, filled with donations for the Hope Centre in Northampton. The Hope Centre supports local people struggling with homelessness and issues relating to hardship.

Please see attached a wish list from the Hope Centre with requested donations. If possible, please could you support your child with donating an item for their form group’s Christmas hamper.

The deadline for the Christmas hampers is Monday 16th December and a member of the Hope Centre will be announcing the winner of the best Christmas hamper in assembly on Wednesday 18th December.

Thank you for your support. As part of our values, we encourage our students to be empathetic and actively contribute to their local community.

    Kind Regards,

    Emma Gee

  • Year 13 Parents' Evening

    29 November 2024

    Year 13 Parents’ Evening

    Dear parents and carers,

You are invited to our Year 13 Parents’ Evening which, following the success of these over the past couple of years, will be a virtual event on Thursday 12 December. Appointments are 6 minutes in length to allow for time to discuss academic progress.

Bookings for our Year 13 Parents’ Evening will open via Edulink at 9am on Wednesday 4 December, where you can book a slot with your child’s subject teachers. The bookings system will close on Tuesday 10 December at 11:55pm

For the majority of parents, the evening will run from 3.30pm-8pm, however, there are a small number of departments that are unable to accommodate all students within this time frame. Therefore, for the following subject areas – Business (Mrs Freezer), Economics (Mr O’Hara), and Criminology & Psychology (Mrs Harris and Miss Fletcher) the parents evening appointments will be available between 2pm-8pm.

If you have not used Edulink before to book an appointment, we have listed some helpful guides below which explain the process:

For parents who have not yet set up their Edulink One account, please contact:  ithelpdesk@ccs.northants.sch.uk for your log in details.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries.

    Kind regards,

    Gayle Harris
    Performance Leader of Year 13
