Sanctions for Uniform Infringements

Dear Parents/Carers,

We would like to make you aware that we have updated our sanction process relating to uniform infringements. Maintaining our uniform standards is essential, not only for the professional appearance of our students, but also for fostering a sense of unity and discipline within our school community. As such, it is imperative that all students comply with our uniform guidelines. Your cooperation in reinforcing the importance of adhering to our school's standards is greatly appreciated. I have attached a copy of our uniform policy, which is also on our website.  https://www.ccs.northants.sch.uk/information/uniform

From Monday 26th February the following process will be actioned by all staff for uniform infringements:

First day or first incident: (Level 0) member of staff to log on Edulink, discuss with student and give an instruction to correct the infringement within a given time frame.

Second day or second incident: (Level 1) 'repeat level 0.’ Member of staff to discuss with student and repeat the instruction to correct the infringement within a given time frame. Log 1 negative point on Edulink. Tutor to send email to parent/carer.

Third day or third incident: (Level 2) 'disobeying a member of staff.’ Member of staff to discuss with student and repeat the instruction to correct the infringement within a given time frame. Log 30-minute detention, with the reason given in the comments box so parent/carer can see.

Persistent infringements: (Level 3) 'failure to improve behaviour'. Member of staff to discuss with student and repeat the instruction to correct the infringement within a given time frame. Log 1 hour detention, with the reason given in the comments box so parent/carer can see. Tutor to contact parent/carer.

Continued refusal to comply: (Level 4) 'Severe refusal to follow instructions.’ Member of staff to discuss with student, repeat the instruction to correct the infringement within a given time frame. Log Level 4 on Edulink and email the Performance Leader, who will contact the parent/carer. Level 4 carries a sanction of Internal Exclusion.

The above information will be shared with all students on or before Monday 26th February.

Please contact your child’s tutor in the first instance if you have any questions or require further clarification on our uniform policy or sanction process.

Kind Regards,
