A show jumping star!
We are honoured to share the success of Year 7 student, Emily Buckley, who has been representing CCS in equestrian sports this year. She rides her own pony, which she has taught everything to herself.

The Visual Art department is delighted to announce that we have just been informed by the Royal Academy that Thomas Atkinson (Year 13) has had his work accepted into both the online exhibition and also the in-house summer exhibition at the Royal Academy itself. 31 students from CCS sent in artworks to the competition (which is the largest number to date) and we would like to thank them all for producing such lovely work and participating in this event. Over 21,500 young people nationally submitted work for the Youth Summer Show this year.
This is a huge achievement for Thomas, and we are incredibly proud of him. This is the second time that Thomas has managed to be accepted by the Royal Academy; the first time was to participate in the “attRAct” one-year online program of study, which he completed last year.
The youth exhibition at the Royal Academy will run from 16th July – 11th August and Thomas’ work will be viewed by thousands of people worldwide online and also in person.
Well done Thomas!
Our remarkable Year 6 student, Cavina is going above and beyond in her gymnastics! From her early days as a Gym Bug at just 2.5 years old, Cavina's passion and dedication to gymnastics have shone brightly.
With an impressive commitment of 13 hours per week, Cavina has been training diligently as part of the senior squad at her local gymnastics club, NCAAC. Her journey through the grades has been marked by perseverance, skill development, and unwavering determination.
We are thrilled to announce that Cavina recently showcased her talent at the East Midlands Grade 3 Development championships, where she truly excelled. Finishing 3rd place on the Beam and Floor, along with impressive 5th place finishes on Bars and in Range & Conditioning (R&C). Her outstanding achievements resulted in 4th place overall in the region! Such a fantastic result!
Cavina's success is a testament to her hard work, passion, and the support of her family, coaches, and community. Let's join together in applauding her remarkable accomplishments and wishing her continued success as she continues to reach for the stars in her gymnastics journey!
We are so proud to share our Year 12 student, Lara’s recent achievements in Cross Country. After securing her impressive 2nd place finish at the County Schools event, Lara continued her success by finishing 8th in the Senior girls race at the Anglian Schools competition on Saturday.
Lara then went on to compete at the Welsh U20 Indoor Championships on Sunday, winning a bronze medal in the 800m event, demonstrating her resilience and determination.
Lara's achievements not only highlight her hard work but also exemplify the spirit of dedication and perseverance that embodies our community's values. We can’t wait to see all that you do, Lara, and we cheer her on every step of the way!
Freya began her journey only a little over a year ago, competing in cross country and on the track with the summer highlight becoming the 600m U11 girls County Champion.
Freya exhibited exceptional performance and won in the South Northants and Daventry District Schools Cross Country Championships for Year 6. Despite facing challenges in the Northants County Schools Championships, where both Years 6 and Year 7 participated, Freya displayed remarkable resilience. Following an early incident where she was pushed and fell to the ground, she navigated through a 2.6km muddy and hilly course, strongly finishing in 16th place and earning her county selection.
She will be competing in the upcoming competition on 3rd February for the inter-counties Anglian Cup. It's wonderful to see Freya's dedication and sportsmanship throughout these events, and we can't wait to see all that she does. Congratulations to Freya on her achievements!
Congratulations to Year 7 student Amy Entwistle who recently won Silver in the National Gymnastics competition in Leicester on Sunday 12 November!
Amy competed at Bronze intermediate level and won a Silver medal for her vault - this is the first time she has competed at this level, so it is a fantastic achievement to receive such a result. Amy was also awarded Silver for her vault in an earlier competition, which is a real testament to her talent in gymnastics.
We are delighted to share with our school community the fantastic results of Year 10 student Eryn, who last weekend competed in the Regional Classic Challenge in Leicester, battling out to secure a place in the top 6 places in the region, to go on to the National Finals representing the East Midlands.
Congratulations to Year 8 student Izzie who recently took part in the Street Dance International (SDI) competition.
Izzie competed in a variety of different categories, featuring a contemporary solo, with another dance partner as a pair, as well as part of a team.
Her results were:
