Published 27/11/23, by Megan InnesA fantastic game between CCS and Hackleton took place last week. The boys took an early lead through Kye, who later in the half doubled the advantage before Hackleton pulled one back early in the second half.
Kye grabbed the match ball with a few minutes to go before Hackleton scored to make it a nervous last 2 minutes for Mr Wood and Mr O'Boyle.
Final score: CCS 3 - 2 Hackleton

Published 21/11/23, by Megan InnesThe game started with a quick two goals from Redborne, the girls quickly knew they had to play tighter and firmer to keep their place in the cup. Kyla managed to break on the left wing and score an excellent top corner goal. The game was 2-1 at half time. With some injuries in the first half, some changes were made to the CCS Team. The girls played excellent football, holding Redborne off for a good time during the 2nd half. Towards the latter half, Redborne broke through and scored another goal 3-1. The girls kept fighting, but Redborne were strong on the attack and took the lead to 5-1 with 10 minutes to go. With a break on the wing, Kyla and Lily were on the attack once again. Lily played the ball to Millie in centre midfield who secured us our 2nd goal of the game. With the game 5-2 with the final minutes to go, Annabel continued to make some fantastic saves and Leah and Sienna in defence kept their attack from scoring any more. In the final few minutes, Redborne had a break through and finished the game 6-2.
Redborne being an upper school, had a team of all Year 9 players. Our team currently only has 3 players in that age group. The girls did tremendously to make the 4th round of the National Cup and challenge other teams in the year group above. Next year, the girls will come back even stronger and more experienced.
I am very proud of their resilience, teamwork and team spirit to not give up, drop their heads and play with sportsmanship.
Well done to all the girls involved in the National Cup Squad and for being selected from many girls at training. This is the furthest CCS has ever reached in the Girls National Cup, and I am proud of their success.

Published 21/11/23, by Megan InnesOn Monday 20 November, our Year 5/6 Girls Football team welcomed Wootton Primary School.
It was an exciting first half with some great saves from both keepers and some fantastic last-ditch tackles. Unfortunately, there were no goals in the first half and the teams were all square at the break. After a switch of formations, the second half was underway. Sophie M broke the deadlock with an excellent run and goal. CCS battled to maintain the lead but a freekick in the last moments of the game saw Wootton pull level. The game finished 1-1.

Published 21/11/23, by Megan InnesAs this was the first time the boys had been together as a team, they played with a lot of heart and determination, few issues in regards with the rules, but that made the game a bit more interesting.
Not the result that we wanted, but they never gave up and that's all we could ever ask for from them.

Published 13/11/23, by Megan InnesOn Thursday 9 November, the Year 9 netball squad travelled to KBA for a rearranged County Netball Tournament.
CCS started well and won their first game v Lodge Park 7 – 6 but after this, despite some great netball, CCS missed out on the semi-finals. There were some strong performances within the team from A Agei, I Robertson and S Raina but the overall player of the Tournament goes to H Morris who played multiple positions throughout the tournament and was consistently reliable and really well for the team.

This game started very even between two lovely netball teams, but CCS were able to command their circle and score 4 quick goals. M Gee was very dominant at GD and J Aluru picked up any loose balls in the 2nd quarter and CCS were 13 - 2 in the lead at half time. A few changes were made in the 3rd and 4th quarters which saw A Knight shine at WA/WD along with E Savage. Some great shooting from L Tipping and A Hunt kept CCS on top. G Wittich-Jackson fed some fabulous balls into the circle, and with A Hunt and E Guzic the netball flowed down the court and was a pleasure to watch.

Two strong performances from CCS last night saw them win two matches against the strong outfits of Wootton Primary and Woodland View Primary. 2 goals from Caleb, one from Kye and a strong defensive performance from Oliver ensured the first win of the night.
Then 4 goals split between Kye, Caleb, Jayden and the pick of the goals from Jack ensured 6 points and 2 clean sheets.
