  • Year 7 District Cup v Sponne at CCS - 4/10/22

    Published 11/10/22, by Megan Innes

This was the first time this group of boys have played as a team together and this was a result that they should all be incredibly proud of.

CCS began the game on the front foot going 1-0 up through A Farr’s clinical finish as he broke through the defence. Sponne were quick to reply, snatching a goal back to make the game 1-1. Both teams had many opportunities to bring a goal back, some great saves made by T De Board kept the game at 1-1 going into half-time. Both teams began the second half looking to snatch the win, with both teams going close. CCS boys were determined to get a goal looking for any opportunity to pounce on. Sponne managed to score a very well worked goal and took the lead 2-1. CCS kept their heads held high and responded through a great team goal finished off by L Blackwood, who slotted the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-2. However, Sponne responded clinically managing to grab two great goals back, ending the game with a 4-2 victory.

Despite the result, the boys should be immensely proud of how they all played showing fantastic levels of teamwork, grit and determination.

Thank you once again to Sponne for a great game and making their way over to CCS, we wish them all the best for future fixtures.

  • Year 5/6 Boys Football

    Published 07/10/22, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

The year 5/6 boys football team played their first of four group matches in the Northamptonshire Sport football league. They faced stiff competition against Roade Primary School. It was an incredibly even game, but a wonderful finish from the Roade winger sealed a 1-0 win for the visitors.

Notable performances include Harry, who made some cat like saves and player of the match went to Riley for his determination and perseverance throughout the whole match, this included a whole pitch sprint to slide in and prevent a shot on goal.

  • Girls Football Celebrates

    Published 30/09/22, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

We are so excited to share the girls' football training had 58+ girls attend along with 7 sports leaders in sixth form who have played previously for Mrs Evans throughout her 5 years at CCS.

Mrs Evans was a super proud teacher to see such a positive outcome! As someone who has spent 15 years here at the school coaching girls football and winning a total of 6 county cup trophies (and with the recent successes of the lionesses). It makes me so proud to see Caroline Chisholm School ahead of the path with our encouragement and promotion of girls football throughout our time as a school.

    Sixth Form Netball v Sponne – 20 September 2022

The CCS Sixth Form netball squad travelled to Sponne for a netball friendly.  Sponne had two teams who played CCS - a Year 11/12 team and a Year 12/13 team

Both matches were evenly contested, played with enthusiasm and some excellent netball was seen.  In the first match, CCS lost a really close match 10 - 7 with J Eze being chosen as player of the match.

Against a strong year 12/13 Sponne team CCS lost 11 – 2 with M Jones having a great game and getting chosen for Player of the Match

    Well done to all players!

Tuesday 20 September – U15 Boys County Cup Football v KBA AWAY

A battling performance from the Y10 boys football team saw them come away with nothing to show for their efforts. After travelling away to Kettering, the boys suffered a 3-1 loss vs Kettering Buccleuch Academy (KBA) in the first game of the county cup in 2022-23. Plenty more games to come this year for the group and the chance to make a more positive start in the District league fixtures.

  • U13 Cricket team help women's England team

    Published 21/07/22, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

A fantastic experience and honour for the Under 13's girls on Monday the 11 of July as they were selected by Northants Cricket to be the flag bearers for England Women's Cricket team v South Africa.

The girls as County Champions were given the honour as they were the first ever state school to win the indoor tournament.

They have also just represented Northants in an outdoor regional tournament too.

A brilliant year of cricket from the girls capped off with a wonderful experience at the England game. The girls should be really proud of all their achievements this year and I hope they continue to enjoy their cricket and have more success in the upcoming academic year.
