  • Year 8 Netball vs Magdalen

    Published 02/11/22, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

Caroline Chisholm School travelled to Magdalen for the Year 8 league netball match with a very strong squad and many players unlucky not to be selected for this game.  CCS took control of the game during the 1st quarter with strong shooting from I Robinson who was outstanding in the circle.   Special mention to H Morris who played a wonderful WD, picking up any loose balls in the centre third and helping CCS go on the attack again.  By half-time CCS were 6 – 0 up.

In the 2nd half some changes were made, but again CCS coped with this and F Osisanya defended exceptionally and E Swaffer went to GA and was shooting from the edge of the circle with great success.  E Taylor played so well, whatever position she played, and the final score was Magdalen 0 – 15 CCS.

Player of the match (as chosen by Magdalen players) was E Taylor but H Morris also deserves to be noted as player of the match as she really played so well.

It was very close for the 1st two quarters.   Special mention to D Odei at GK, (her best match for CCS so far) and M Mastac who really was amazing, especially at centre.  As always E Burdett was so strong at GD and K Laverick-Reid and P Hollis worked so well in the circle together and scored some great goals.   C Hayes fed into the circle so well to help contribute the win.

  • U14 Boys Football vs Lincroft : EFSA National Cup

    Published 19/10/22, by Autumn Wilson-Haywood

Our U14 boys football team lost out to a decisive goal in the closing minutes vs Lincroft to exit the ESFA National Cup.

A slow start saw CCS go into half-time 0-1 down, but the boys grew into the game and took full control when H. Evans equalised to make it 1-1. Chances were being created through some excellent wing play, but we couldn’t convert them into goals. Some excellent defending saw them nullify Lincroft’s attacks and help to regain possession, but ultimately Lincroft had one final chance. A killer blow from a corner 5 minutes from time after a world-class save from F. McMillan to stop a certain goal beforehand.

The boys will turn their focus to District League and County Cup fixtures in the coming months.

  • Year 10 Netball vs Sponne - 4/10/2022

    Published 11/10/22, by Megan Innes

CCS played their first league game v Sponne, and it was a very competitive even game.

CCS were ahead in the first quarter, but Sponne battled well, and some lovely netball was played.  Unfortunately, Sponne suffered two injuries during the game which unsettled them, but CCS still delivered on court and special mentions to E Burdett, P Hollis and K Laverick-Reid who helped CCS to finally win the match in the last quarter.

Many of the team played in positions they would not usually play to accommodate some of our players being unavailable, yet they battled well and it was fantastic to see C Fenton, S Shoker, D Odei and M Mastac excel during this game.

C Hayes fed into the circle so well and P Hollis used her height in the centre court and worked well with E Burdett and CCS finally won their match 11 – 8.  Such a great performance by this hard-working team.

Player of the Match (as voted for by Sponne): K Laverick-Reid
